Small Group Sessions with Direct Answers to your Specific Questions

We invite you to book an Autism Parent & Caregiver Group Learning Session with one of our Autism Experts today.

The Stages Learning team is here to support you on your journey with your child, children or loved ones, on the autism spectrum. We encourage you to utilize our Group Learning Sessions (Live via ZOOM) to address questions ranging from intense behaviors, self help and toileting skills, speech and language, sleep challenges, elopement, problems in school, and so much more. Whether you are seeking help to an urgent concern, or just trying to gain a deeper understanding of how to best help your child, our Teachers and Consultants are here to guide you.

Sessions are 90 minutes long. Each session will start with a 45 minute learning presentation on a topic that rotates week to week, and then transition to an interactive question & answer session, addressing specific concerns presented by attendees. Group size will be limited to make sure that the Consultant is able to answer as many real-world questions as possible.

Use this time to ask us anything about your specific situation and get individualized, hands-on encouragement and focused strategies from an autism expert who will provide guidance, no matter the age or history of your child or family member. Our Consultants

Dr. Michelle Nutini, Ed.D

Before joining STAGES Learning, Dr. Michelle Nutini taught diverse high-needs students with autism for over a decade in the School District of Philadelphia before serving as the district’s Autism Support Coordinator for the last five years. In that role, she served as a subject matter expert, provided professional development and training, technical assistance, and consultative services, and built interactive resources to support the planning and implementation of autistic support services in and outside more than 400 specialized programs throughout the district’s 200+ schools.

An award-winning educator, Michelle has presented at annual conferences for the Council for Exceptional Children, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Philadelphia Autism Project, and the International Society for Autism Research. Invested in applying research to practice, she has also served on several advisory boards as part of community-academic partnerships in implementation research studies through the Autism Research Intervention Network, AIR-B, and the University of Pennsylvania. Michelle earned her Doctorate of Education in Special Education Leadership & Management at Drexel University as a USELT (Urban Special Education Leader of Tomorrow) Scholar, which has been integral to her passion and work in building systems and capacity. In addition, she has a Masters in Elementary and Special Education from Chestnut Hill College, a TESOL certificate from the School of International Training, and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, the National Public Honors College.

Rachel Emmer, M.S. CCC-SLP

Rachel Emmer joined the STAGES Learning team in July of 2021 and provides professional development and customer care. Rachel is a speech-language pathologist who worked in public schools for 15 years. During that time, she supported children in a variety of settings and specialized classrooms at the elementary level, at an early childhood school, and as part of a district behavior instructional support team.

Rachel has a passion for working with students and staff to increase communication skills and positive behavior in the classroom. Rachel has a bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, a Master of Science in communication disorders from The University of Texas at Dallas, and her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. 

 

Amanda Struss, M.Ed.

Amanda is a special education teacher and autism specialist who has worked in a variety of educational and clinical settings across the country for the last 14 years. From California to Maine, this includes both non-public and public schools, specialized classrooms and inclusion settings, and in-home services. Amanda is passionate about working to develop and provide the most positive, comprehensive, and individualized programs to support students who require intensive interventions in order to increase their ability to gain skills using a more natural teaching approach and to effectively access the environments that they are present in throughout each day.

Outside of the classroom environment, Amanda provides extensive consultation to families of children with autism and behavior disorders; has helped develop and implement positive behavior and intervention systems for school districts; and has been a featured speaker at conferences about how to effectively incorporate positive behavior supports within the classroom. Amanda obtained her Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Connecticut’s NEAG School of Education, where she focused her studies on Autism and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports.
